Novelli 

THE HAPPY CLIENT

Novelli is New Zealand’s leading promotional merchandise agency. A family business, these guys are innovative, creative and look after their staff and customers.

THE CHALLENGE

Manager Craig Pinker came up with a novel idea for his staff Christmas gifts. He decided to get each staff member a bottle of high-quality champagne and personalise the labels.

 

Each label was designed to look like a real Champagne brand but with custom contents. He had the label and design sorted, all he needed was some wordsmith magic.

 

Each label had to include the following:

 

  • Name of the champagne (with a play on the person’s name)

  • Year born or ‘Vintage’

  • 50-word ‘tasting notes’ showcasing each employee's personality traits and history.

HOW WE HELPED

Craig gave us two lines describing each of the 13 staff members to work our magic with. Our writer Dave combined his flair for words (and knowledge of champagne bottle labels) to come up with what was described by the client as “Awesome, awesome, awesome!”

The Novelli staff loved their gifts and we've been told some are empty and the rest have been kept as collector's items.

Deep from the bowels of the Novelli cellar, this aged and venerable vintage still keeps up with the new offerings by staying true to its history. Renowned for its fastidious fermentation process, a sample of The Terence ‘62 is unsurprisingly consistent with a strong flavour until the very last drop. Every bottle has been personally tested and can only be purchased in-store before 5pm, a throwback to the good old days.
